Our Export Procedures

At Cars & Stars, it is not only Singaporean friends and customers that matter to us, but also overseas business partners. If you are an overseas importer, you and the vehicle(s) you are about to import from us is taken care of by our experienced export specialists, with proper export procedures to ensure that every vehicle exported out by us meets the highest standards possible.

Step 1 : Initial Vehicle Selection

Rest assured that it is our export specialists highest priorities to ensure that when they select a vehicle, they will pick vehicles of the highest quality.

Step 2 : Readying the Vehicle

All vehicles for export will undergo conditioning done by professionals once they are in our inventory, and conditioning includes :

1. Exterior Conditioning
   Our vehicle paint shop will arrest and resolve any issues with a vehicle’s exterior, including common door dents.
2. Interior Conditioning
   After the exterior conditioning, the vehicle will go through a thorough interior cleaning process, where the seats, dashboard and flooring are thoroughly buffed and cleaned, ending up as almost close to brand new.
3. Pre-approval inspection
   As a final step before approving the vehicle, our export specialists will go through one final check of the vehicle, making sure the exterior, interior, tires, engines, and electronics, are all in good condition. Should any issues be discovered, the vehicle will be sent back for re-conditioning, and then subjected to inspection again.

Step 3 : Sales Process and Payment

Once you have informed us and confirmed the purchase of a car for import into your country, on our side we will prepare the sales agreement and invoice, and email or fax it to you within the same working day.

The invoice will be inclusive of FOB/CNF with the freight charges, and you will be required to put a deposit of 50% of the sale value upon confirmation of the order, and the remainder prior to shipping.

Step 4 : Documentation, Shipping and Handling

Once the deposit has been confirmed, we will commence with readying the vehicle for shipping. If you so wish, we can organize the shipping for you, however it would be your responsibility to ensure payment is made to the shipping company upon request.

The export documentation and documentation for import into your designated countries will be organized by us to your satisfaction.

All of our vehicles are parked in our area, located in a centralized Export Processing Zone (EPZ). Once the sales process has been finalized, the vehicle(s) intended for you will be prepared for shipping by our EPZ personnel.

Our EPZ personnel will efficiently and safely ready the vehicle(s) intended for you, and then put the vehicles into the container ready to be shipped out to you, or RORO on the earliest available vessel. At every point in time, we will be in contact with you with regards to the status of your order.

Step 5 : Export Documentation

Within five working days after the ship leaves Singapore’s port, the shipping agents will deliver to us the shipping documents, and we will procure all other necessary documents, including the vehicle(s) log card(s), and courier it to you at no charge.

Every country has different legislation and requirements for documents submission, however with our experienced export specialists supporting you in a proper and timely manner, there will be no problems at all.
